Wedding DJ in Manchester
A wedding DJ for Manchester couples, working from just over the hill in the Peak District. I came up through the city’s music, from the studio years around Islington Mill in Salford to DJ sets at Electrik in Chorlton, and I bring that ear to a wedding: disco, soul, funk and house, read to the room rather than run from a fixed list.
The background
A Manchester ear, brought to the day
Twenty years of playing records started in Manchester, first in the basement of Folk in West Didsbury, then around Islington Mill in Salford where my print studio ran, and out through the rooms and record nights the city does so well, from Electrik in Chorlton to Sounds from the Other City. It is where the taste came from.
For a wedding, that means a DJ who knows the difference between filling a floor and just playing the hits. Disco, soul, funk and house at the core, indie and deeper cuts when the room wants them, and the sense to read which is which.
The night
From the ceremony to the last dance
One record collection, played across the whole day if you want it.
I can cover the ceremony, the drinks reception, the meal and the evening, or come in just for the dancing. Microphones for the vows and the speeches are part of it. I play in generational mini-sets, so the floor fills early with what the older guests came for and moves through the night to the younger crowd, and the first dance is yours to choose.
Send me a list of favourites and a do-not-play list, and I build the night around them. I play on vinyl or digital, whichever suits the day. There is more on that on the vinyl or digital page.
Across Greater Manchester
The city and its rooms
I cover the whole of Greater Manchester, from the city centre out to Didsbury, Chorlton, Salford, Stockport and Cheadle. Manchester weddings happen in rooms other cities do not have: the mill and warehouse spaces, the converted rooms out in Ancoats and Salford, register offices, hotels and the halls in between. I set up in any of them, and I am happy to talk to your venue about access, power and curfew before the day.
If your wedding is out towards the hills, there is also a Cheshire wedding page and a Peak District wedding venues page.
What I bring
Everything the sound needs
The booking includes the PA, microphones for the speeches and vows, and dance-floor lighting. I set up anywhere: a warehouse, a hotel, a marquee or a mill. If your venue is off-grid, I also run a sound system that works without mains power.
I am based in Buxton, a short drive from the city, and I cover Greater Manchester, Cheshire, the Peak District and Derbyshire. Further afield by arrangement. When you are ready, here is how to book.
