Hexagons, first cuts

Hexagons, first cuts, Moderate Studio journal, 2016

Tests for the next stage. Layered hexagons cut from mirrored and black perspex, concentric rings stacked into relief, a honeycomb cluster small enough to hold in one hand. A lattice stencil too, which might become something or nothing.

The painted box was always temporary. Whatever replaces its surface has to work harder in that room, with all that glass and gold above it. Mirror seems right. It borrows the building instead of competing with it.
