Four days painting the hoarding in reception with Jude Wainwright. Three faces, three designs: a colour-step spiral, squares inside squares, a radial burst. The designs were built on screen, then translated by hand, colour by colour, up the ladder and down again.
By the end our hands were more paint than skin. Guests wandered past at all hours and the box became a photo stop before it was even finished.
It was a plain grey lump on Sunday. By Wednesday it was the loudest thing in the room, in a building that takes some competing with.
