Marram, my first track

My first track is out, called Marram, after the grass that holds the dunes together. After years of playing other people’s records, this is the first one I’ve made myself.

The idea is a machine that goes to the coast. Dark and wary, but beautiful and surprising once it gets there. A voice let out of the server room for the day, seeing the sea for the first time and coming back with sand in it. Dub disco and Balearic with a bit of spoken word, made in Ableton Live, learning as I went.

It’s the start of something rather than a one-off. There are re-edits I want to do, a mini EP to pull together, some samples to play with. I wanted a new skill to put my mind to, which is really the reason: I like learning and making things, and music is the latest.

It’s on Bandcamp. Have a listen.
