Getting the work ready for Ordering Chaos, a show at Station South. The pieces are yellow kilim diamonds, needlepoint-look geometry in yellow, red and black, framed up in black borders, big ones and a run of small ones laid out on the studio floor. The poster sets the tone: Ordering Chaos, Station South, Moderate Realism, opening on the first of February.
The title is about right for the work and the room it goes in. Bright, ordered pattern made in a bit of a mess, then hung in a converted railway station. There is a globe in a few of the shots, which somehow belongs, the whole world and a stack of yellow diamonds waiting to go up.
