First meeting at the Palace Hotel on Oxford Road, about artwork for the bar taking shape inside. They are calling it the Refuge. The reception is still a building site. Hi-vis, surveying kit, a vast boarded wall waiting for something. The terracotta columns and arches are something else, even half wrapped.
My notebook filled up fast: small bags, posters, pavement art, a tour of the building and, near the bottom, a bronze horse. There is a phrase in there too, from Luke Una, that stuck the moment I heard it. A Re Volt at the Palace.
I walked out with a list as long as my arm and the feeling this would take over the summer.
